Adding a New MCIF Product Group

The MCIF Product Group - New/Update/Copy window lets you set up or modify a product group.

To open the MCIF Product Group - New/Update/Copy window, under Cross Sell on the Portico Explorer Bar, click Administration. On the Administration top menu bar, click MCIF, then click Product Groups. The MCIF Product Group - List window appears. Click the Vendor drop-down arrow and select a vendor to display the MCIF product groups associated with the vendor.

  • To add a new product group, click New. The MCIF Product Group - New window appears for you to create a new product group.
  • To modify an existing product group, click the name of the product group to open the MCIF Product Group - Update window.
  • To create a new product group by copying an existing product group, select the product group row you wish to copy from the list. Then, click Copy. The MCIF Product Group - Copy window appears for you to set up your new product group.

Complete the following steps to set up a product group using the MCIF Product Group – New window. Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).

  1. In the Code field, enter a unique credit union-defined code to identify the product group (Length: 10 alphanumeric). Required field.
  2. In the Name field, enter the credit union-defined name of the product group (Length: 40 alphanumeric). Required field.
  3. Click the Status down arrow to select the status of the product group: Active, Inactive, or Test. System default is Test. Required field.
  4. Click the Start down arrow to select the start date for the product group from the calendar or enter the date in MM/DD/YYYY format. For new product groups, the system default is today's date. Product groups can be effective dated into the future for promotions beginning on a certain date. Required field.
  5. Click the Expire down arrow to select the end date for the product group from the calendar or enter the date in MM/DD/YYYY format. After the expiration date is reached, the product group will no longer appear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window regardless if the Status drop-down is Active. If left blank, the product group will appear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window as long as the Status drop-down is Active.
  6. In the Follow-up Days field, enter the number of days before an opportunity that a member Declined with Follow-up will reappear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window (Length: 3 numeric). For example, if the Follow-up Days field is 60 and the opportunity status is Decline with Follow-up, the opportunity will reappear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window after 60 days. If the opportunity status is Referred, Sold, Decline, or Decline with Interest, the opportunity will not reappear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window. If left blank, the opportunity will never reappear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window unless the original member cross sell history is purged.
  7. In the Sell Multiple Times field, enter the number of times the product group can be sold to a member (Length: 3 numeric).
  8. In the Opportunity Text box, enter additional information that can assist the employee in referring or selling the product or service to the member (Length: 6,000 alphanumeric). The information will appear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window.
  9. If you have a specific script file that can assist the employee in referring or selling the product or service to the member, enter the directory location of the file in the Script Location field (Length: 128 alphanumeric). A link to the file will appear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window.
  10. If you have specific Internet address that can assist the employee in referring or selling the product or service to the member, enter the fully qualified URL in the Internet Link Address field (Length: 128 alphanumeric). A link to the URL will appear on the Cross Sell Opportunities window.

Click Apply to apply the product group settings. Portico will review the information for errors. If no errors are found, Portico will save the product group settings. If errors are found, an error message will appear prompting you to correct the necessary fields.

Click Cancel to close the window without saving the product group.
