Choosing Your Update Option

The following guidelines can help you determine which option to use:

On production release day, if you do not have any issues updating your workstations via the Internet, continue using Option 1 – Internet Download. No changes to your workstation setup are needed.

On production release day, if you do have any issues updating your workstations via the Internet, such as it takes too long or there is too much traffic on your network, you may want to use Option 2 – Shared Directory Download.

You can also take advantage of both options. If you have workstations that are critical to servicing your members, you may want to configure those workstations to use Option 2 – Shared Directory Download and use Option 1 – Internet Download for all other workstations.
