Offering a Product or Service
The Cross Sell Opportunities window lets you offer a member a product or service for referral, decline, or sale. To open the Cross Sell Opportunities window, complete the following steps:
- Under Financial Activity on the Portico Explorer Bar, click Financial Transactions.
- Locate the member using the search tool on the top menu bar. Select the down arrow to select the search method, then enter the search criteria. Select the green arrow or press ENTER to locate the member. Depending on your User Profile Cross Sell settings, an Opportunities pop-up window will appear.
- Click Show Details on the Opportunities pop-up window to reveal the Cross Sell Opportunities window. You also can press F10, or click the shopping bag icon on the top menu bar to reveal the Cross Sell Opportunities window. The Cross Sell Opportunities window will appear with the account number and name of the member you accessed in step 2.

How do I? and Field Help
To hide the Cross Sell Opportunities window, click Hide. You can click the household detail icon to display the Household Accounts dialog box.
You can choose the location and size of the Opportunities pop-up window by selecting one of the options in the Popup Display Position group box on the User Profile - Cross Sell tab.
To get started, select a cross sell plan from the Opportunities grid. The Opportunities grid displays the cross sell plan code, product type, product, and possible links to a file or URL. Cross sell plans with trade lines criteria will also have a trade lines icon. Click the trade lines icon to display the Qualified Trade Lines dialog box. The text box following the grid displays important information about the cross sell plan that you can use to help you refer or sell the product or service to the member.
The MCIF Opportunities grid displays the available MCIF product groups. Select a product group from the list, then click sale shopping bag icon, referral shopping bag icon, or decline shopping bag icon.
- To sell a product or service to the member, select the opportunity in the grid, then click the sale shopping bag icon. The appropriate Portico window or dialog box will appear to let you complete the sale. The sale will automatically be recorded in Cross Sell. You can view the sale information from the Sale History window.
- If you click the Sell icon for a product group cross sell plan that contains a mixture of products and services, the Product Group – Product Types dialog box appears. Select the grid row for the product type and click Continue to proceed with the sale. The appropriate window or dialog box will appear to complete the sale.
- If you click the Sell icon for a product group cross sell plan that contains services only, the Product Group – Service Codes dialog box appears. Select the grid row for the service code and click Continue to proceed with the sale. The appropriate window or dialog box will appear to complete the sale.
- If you click the Sell icon for a product group cross sell plan that contains a specific product type, the appropriate window or dialog box appears to complete the sale. For example:
- If the product group only contains certificates, the Certificate Purchase dialog box appears. The certificate type drop-down list contains all the certificates supported by the credit union.
- If the product group only contains shares, the New Share dialog box appears. The share type drop-down list contains all the shares supported by the credit union that the member does not currently have.
- If the product group has loans only, the Sale – New dialog box appears. The product drop-down list only contains loans included in the product group being sold.
- If the product group has only external products, the Sale – New dialog box appears. The product drop-down list only contains the external products assigned to the product group being sold.
- To refer the member to a member services representative for a callback about the product or service, click the referral shopping bag icon to open the Referral - New window and enter new referral information.
- If the member declined the product or service, click the decline shopping bag icon to open the Decline - New window and enter new decline information.
The Script and MCIF Script boxes contain information about a specific cross sell plan that you can use to help you refer or sell the product or service to the member. To allow users to view the script files on the Cross Sell Opportunities pop up, you must add the Portico web sites as a trusted site in your Internet browser. From your browser window, click Tools, then click Internet Options. Select the Security tab. On the Security tab, click the trusted sites icon, then click Sites. On the Trusted sites window, add the following web sites: https://pvt.portico.fiservapps.com and https://www.portico.fiservapps.com.
The Referral History grid at the bottom of the window displays the member's current referral information, including the cross sell plan code, product type and product. If you successfully sold a product or service as a result of a referral listed in the Referral History grid, select the corresponding cross sell plan and click the sale shopping bag to open the Sale - New window and enter new sale information. Select a cross sell plan and click the decline shopping bag icon to open the Decline - New window and enter new decline information.
The Decline History tab lists the plan code, type, product, declined date and employee who recorded the decline. You can select the corresponding cross sell plan and click the sale shopping bag to open the Sale - New window and enter new sale information. Select a cross sell plan and click the decline shopping bag icon to open the Decline - New window and enter new decline information. Voids will not appear in Decline History. If there are no opportunities for the member, the Opportunities pop up with the Show Details button will still appear if the member has Decline History.
Deactivating the Opportunities Popup
You can easily turn on or turn off the Opportunities popup dialog box when performing activities for multiple members not present in the teller line, such as account verifications or mail work transactions. The Opportunities Pop option can be selected from the Cross Sell drop-down list on the Portico toolbar. To select or unselect the Opportunities Pop option you must belong to a security group containing the CrossSell - Profile - User Profile – Maintain security permission. The Opportunity Pop Audit Summary Report lists the credit union employees who turned on and turned off the Opportunities popup dialog box.
Integration with Financial Transactions
If you add a new product or service using the tabs within Financial Transactions, the sale will be recorded in Cross Sell and Tracking. When the credit union employee successfully adds the new service or product, the sale will be recorded in Cross Sell and Tracking with the employee receiving credit for the sale. The origin of sale will default to the employee’s origin of sale and the sale date will be the effective date of the transaction.
