Loan Payment
For a loan payment, click the down arrow to select the member's loan.
The Regular Payment field indicates the regularly scheduled payment amount due on the loan.
The Delinquent Amount field indicates the amount the loan is delinquent.
The amount in the Uncollected Late Charges field depends on the late charge options defined for the loan type:
- When the Defer Late Charges check box is selected on the Loan Profiles - Collections/Late Charges tab, the Uncollected Late Charges field indicates the total amount of late charges that have been deferred on the loan. This field is updated by Portico when the late charge for a loan type is deferred at the time of the loan payment.
- When the Late Charges Calculation Method field on the Loan Profiles - Collections/Late Charges tab is set to A - Late charges are assessed in the back-office cycle the loan is eligible for the fee, the Uncollected Late Charges field indicates the total amount of late charges that have been assessed on the loan. This field is updated by Portico when the late charge for a payment type 7 loan type is assessed in the back-office cycle the loan is eligible for the fee. Loans that have late charges assessed in the back-office cycle may also have late charges deferred when a payment is applied.
- When the Rule 1 field on the Loan Profiles - Collections/Late Charges tab is W - Wisconsin late charges, the Uncollected Late Charges field indicates the total amount of late charges that were calculated but not collected when a payment was applied. This amount, plus any newly calculated late charges, will automatically be collected if enough funds are paid with the next applied payment.
Complete the following steps to calculate the payment due on the loan.
- In the Calculate Payment group box, select the Apply check box and enter the number of payments in the Apply _ Payment(s) field to have Portico automatically calculate the payment amount in the Amount that will be applied field. Since a delinquent payment type 007 loan can have different payment amounts for each payment due, the Apply _ Payment(s) field will be set to 1 and read-only.
- Select the Apply Delinquent Amount check box to apply the delinquent amount to make the loan current.
- Select the Principal Only Payment check box if the loan payment is a principal only payment. If a principal-only payment, partial payment, or both are made for a Portico loan, the system will insert a character indicator in front of the note number in the Functions column of the Transaction Area grid. An * indicates principal only payment, ! indicates partial payment and @ indicates both principal only and partial payment.
- You can use the calculated payment amount that will be paid on the loan or, enter an arbitrary amount in the Amount that will be applied field.
- Select the Accept Partial Payment check box to accept the partial payment and avoid the warning message when making a partial payment.
- When you click OK, the amount will appear in the To Information Amount column. You can then complete the payment transaction as normal.
If the From Product column is loan advance on the Deposits, Withdrawals, Payments, Transfers tab, you can click the ellipsis button to display the Member Loans dialog box.
