Setting Up Teller Override
The most basic security feature on Portico is the override teller ID. You can use override teller IDs to perform transactions that have a critical impact on member accounts and credit union information.
Portico allows an override teller ID to perform any transaction on the system. The teller override icon appears on the toolbar. If you submit a transaction that requires an override teller ID, the message Override Authority Required appears.
Some transactions can be performed by any teller ID, but require an override teller ID to maintain a specific field(s).
The Supervisor Override Transactions Report 320 lists all financial transactions performed by your override teller IDs. The affected member's account number and the date of the transaction also appear on the report. The 320 Report allows you to track the activity performed by the override teller IDs.
The Teller Override Activity Report 324 is an auditing tool that allows you to monitor all override activity that occurred on all share, loan, and certificate accounts, including credit union employee accounts. Branch managers can use the appropriate section of the report to monitor the activity in their branch. The report lists all member and credit union employee transactions that required an override teller ID to complete the transaction.
90 Series Override Teller ID
A 90 series override teller ID can be any number from 90 through 99. Assign these IDs to supervisory personnel such as your head teller. Portico allows a 90 series teller ID to perform any transaction; therefore, we recommend that you do not assign 90 series IDs to your tellers.
When using a non-90 series teller ID for basic transactions, and a 90 series teller ID for override transactions, you can use the Balancing and Close tab to close both tellers at the same time and produce one balance sheet.
Non-90 Series Override Teller ID
A non-90 series override teller ID can be any two-character alphanumeric combination except the numeric range of 90-99. Use this option when you have more than ten supervisory employees, or you do not want to use the 90 series teller IDs. With the non-90 series teller ID, Portico combines all the teller's activity; both the activity performed using the override code and that performed without.
