The 480 Report provides group-pay premium information, and the 485 Report lists the members with member-pay CLI. If selected, you must select the correct credit life insurance option on the New Loan - Setup tab or Loans - Insurance tab. The Calculators - Truth-In-Lending tab will include the CLI premium when calculating the payment for a new loan or recalculating the payment for an existing loan. Indicates whether Portico calculates and posts CDI for the credit union during the month-end back-office cycle. The 130 Report lists all members with CDI insurance. The valid options are: Y - Calculate and post CDI premiums based on the following fields on the 130 Report Rules: INSURANCE PLAN and LEVEL RATE $ PER $100 or RATE TABLE ID and INS PLAN. If L appears in the INSURANCE PLAN field and an amount appears in the LEVEL RATE $ PER $100 field, the system calculates the premium using the rate. If the RATE TABLE ID field contains a valid ID and E, F, G, or H appears in the INSURANCE PLAN field, the system calculates the premium using the rate table. If you select Y, you only specify criteria for a level rate calculation or a rate table calculation. You cannot specify criteria for both. The message INVALID TXN, 901 MRCDI = Y appears if you enter information in the LEVEL RATE $ PER $100 field and in the RATE TABLE ID field on the 130 Report Rules. N - Do not calculate CDI premiums. System default. B - Calculates and posts CDI premiums according to the loan plan specified selected on the Loans - General tab. You can select both a level rate and a rate table calculation. On closed-end loans, the system calculates the premium using the rate table specified in the RATE TABLE ID field on the 130 Report Rules. When you select Y or B, you must specify whether the premium will be added to the member's loan or withdrawn from shares on the New Loan - Setup tab or Loans - Insurance tab. The Calculators - Truth-In-Lending tab will include the CDI premium when calculating the payment for a new loan or recalculating the payment for an existing loan. Support Truncated Coverage for Level Rate Insurance |
Indicates if Portico will determine closed-end loan eligibility for level rate credit life and level rate credit disability insurances using credit union-defined maximums. These maximums will be used to support truncated coverage on new loans. This checkbox should only be selected if your main credit union branch resides in a state where CUNA truncated coverage support has been introduced and maximums have been established for loans with newly-elected level rate insurance. Loans existing on Portico, before activation of truncated coverage, will continue to process without the new eligibility requirements. When the Support Truncated Coverage for Level Rate Insurance checkbox is not selected, level rate credit disability and credit life insurance processing remains unchanged, and truncated coverage support using a maximum duration term is not supported for level rate credit disability and credit life insurances. Unselected is the default option for this checkbox and should remain the option until truncated coverage has been introduced in your state. Credit life insurance will continue to support the maximum months insured option that is currently available on the 485 Report Rules. Insurance coverage-elected dates other than the loan booking date are not allowed; therefore, insurance coverage is considered supported from the origination date of the loan. If the Support Truncated Coverage for Level Rate Insurance checkbox is selected, truncated coverage support using a maximum duration term for level rate credit disability and credit life insurance is supported. This allows a loan to be considered eligible for insurance where the insurance does not cover the entire term of the loan. In addition, insurance coverage elected dates, other than the loan booking date, are allowed. When a new loan is booked to Portico from Loancierge or another loan product, Portico will enter the effective date of the loan as the insurance coverage-elected date. You can indicate if a member elects insurance at a time other than when the loan is booked on the Loans - Insurance tab. Note: For credit unions that have Portico calculate and post level rate insurance premiums using the 130 and 485 Reports, but CUNA is not their insurance partner, you verify that truncated coverage for level rate insurance is supported by your insurance vendor. The Support Truncated Coverage for Level Rate Insurance checkbox should not be selected for any of these vendors, Minnesota Mutual, PHF Life Insurance Company (formerly Richard J. Katz), and Creditors Resources, until verification has been completed.
