Resetting a User's Password
When you click Reset Password on the Users – List window, Portico will generate a random temporary password. The temporary password will be automatically emailed to the Portico user to the email address specified for the user ID on the User – Update window. A message will appear indicating that the temporary password was emailed to the user. If an email address does not exist on the User - Update window, an error message will appear indicating that an email address is required to reset the password.
The temporary password generated by Portico will only be valid for 15 minutes. If the user attempts to enter the temporary password after 15 minutes, it will not work, and your credit union administrator will need to generate a new temporary password.
The credit union-defined maximum failed logon attempts is limited to a maximum of 5 attempts. After 5 failed attempts, the user ID status will be changed to Suspended and the user will be locked out of Portico until the account is reactivated by an administrator.
