Credit Union
The Credit Union tab displays basic information about the credit union. Use the following links to learn more about the options in each section of the Credit Union tab:
To access the Credit Union Profile - Credit Union tab, under Administration on the Portico Explorer Bar, click Profiles. On the Profiles top menu bar, click System, then click Credit Union. The Credit Union Profile - Credit Union tab appears.

The ZIP code where the credit union resides. The ZIP code will appear on several reports, notices and the member statements. The first five digits equal the ZIP Code. Combined Reporting |
If selected, the credit union participates in combined federal/state reporting. (Portico Host: 901 Transaction - COMBINED field) |
Secure TIN on Year End Forms |
If selected, only the last four digits of the member’s Social Security Number (SSN), Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), or Employer ID Number (EIN) will display on paper or electronic year-end forms and notices. For example, SSN 123-45-6789 would appear as ***-**-6789, EIN 72-3456789 would appear as **-***6789, and ITIN 912-71-6789 would appear as ***-**-6789. This option is defined at the credit union level and includes the following year-end notices:

Backup Dividend Withholding Domestic Federal |
Indicates the default withholding percentage for domestic member accounts. The Domestic Federal field will contain the current withholding percentage required by the IRS for domestically-held savings accounts and certificates. You can override this percentage at the member level using the Override Percentage field on the Stmts/Reporting/Notices tab. Backup Dividend Withholding Foreign Federal |
Indicates the default withholding percentage for foreign member accounts. The Foreign Federal field will contain the current withholding percentage required by the IRS for foreign-held savings accounts and certificates. You can override this percentage at the member level using the Override Percentage field on the Stmts/Reporting/Notices tab. If selected, the credit union supports additional branches. Each branch must have its own processing rules/profile. This field is used with branch accounting and reporting. (Portico Host: 901 Transaction - BRANCH field) |
Post Fees to Member Branch |
If selected, Portico will post back office fees, share draft fees and ACH fees to the branch associated with the member being assessed the fee. The fees update the fee general ledger account in the member's branch. If not selected, Portico will not post the fees based on the member's branch. All fees will update the fee general ledger account in branch 000. Back Office Fees are identified as fees assessed through the Flexible Fee program. The general ledger accounts for Flexible Fees are displayed on the Flexible Fees Maintenance window. Share Draft Fees including: Returns, Non-Returns,Stop Payment and Overdraft Protection fees. The general ledger accounts for Share Draft Fees are defined on the 450 Report Rules. ACH Fees including: Returns, Non-Returns, Stop Payment, Overdraft Protection and Origination fees. Automated Branch Change |
If selected, the credit union uses automated branch change to automatically transfer members from branch to branch based on branch activity or home ZIP codes or both. If the check box is selected, the Member Allowed check box cannot be selected and the Branches Allowed check box must be selected for branch 000. The Previous Branch field on the Ownership Information tab indicates the old branch number if the member had a branch change. (Portico Host: 905 Transaction - AUT BR CH field) |

No longer used. |
Connection Switchover | If selected, Portico will automatically switch your workstation to the alternate connection, if issues arise connecting to Portico via your default network. For example, if your default network is private and no connection is available, Portico will automatically switch your workstation to the public network and vice versa. The next time you log into Portico, your default network connection will be restored. This check box is automatically selected. Users assigned to a security group with the Portico – System – Credit Union Profile – Maintain permission can clear/deselect this credit union-maintainable check box to deactivate this functionality. |
If selected, a masked member number will be printed on notices.
The member number will be masked with Xs or asterisks (*) depending on the notice. Most year-end notices will print Xs, while other notices, like the certificate maturity notice, will print asterisks (*). (Portico Host: 901 Transaction - SECURE MBR NBR field) |

The effective date used to post dividends to member's accounts. The valid options are: C - Last day of the current dividend period. System default. Alternate Address |
If selected, the credit union supports Separate Address Per Account. Separate Address Per Account gives members the opportunity to select the location where they want their financial information mailed. The separate address capability allows you to assign an alternate address to statements and a select group of notices and reports. Based on individual needs, some members may need their financial information mailed to their business address rather than their home address. When selecting an alternate address, members must understand that their chosen option cannot be for a specific time period only. (Portico Host: 905 Transaction - SEP N\A field) |
Observe Daylight Savings |
If selected, the state where the credit union or branch resides observes daylight savings time. This is a branch-level field. (Portico Host: 901 Transaction - DAYLITE SV field) |
The time variation between the local time at the credit union or branch and Central Time Zone. For example, a credit union in New York would have +1 or a credit union in California would have -2 to indicate the number of hours that they are different than Central Time Zone. The valid options are: -1 thru -9 - The number of hours the local time is behind Central Time. 0 - The local time is equal to Central Time. System default. +1 thru +9 - The number of hours the local time is ahead of Central Time. This is a branch-level field. (Portico Host: 901 Transaction -CST +/- field) |
