Purging members
For more information regarding purging, see Purging Account and Member Records.
Portico purges all account detail for a member when the following criteria is met:
- The Allow Account to Purge checkbox is selected on the Stmts/Reporting/Notices tab. If the Allow Account to Purge checkbox is not selected, Portico does not purge the member record, nor does Portico purge the member’s share, share draft, certificate, and loan account types.
- All of the member’s certificates meet the certificate purge criteria.
- Savings bond interest is $0.00.
- All of the member’s loans meet the loan purge criteria. If the Purge Loans checkbox on the Credit Union Profile - Purge tab is selected, the loan purges, regardless of any other loan purge options selected.
- All of the member’s share accounts meet the share purge criteria. If the share type is 01, all other member purge criteria have been met, and the Primary Share checkbox on the Credit Union Profile - Purge tab is not selected, Portico purges the member.
- All of the member's ATM and debit cards meet the ATM/debit card purge criteria.
- The YTD Dividend & Interest field on the Dividends and Interest Maintenance dialog box is less than $10.00.
- The YTD Federal W/H field on the Withholding Maintenance dialog box is $0.00.
- The member is not linked to another user's online banking profile (the member cannot be listed in the Account Access Permissions grid on the Online Banking Maintenance dialog box for another user).
- There are no ACH origination items for the member.
The following exceptions appear on the 935 Report if the member could not be purged:
- M01 - The member has savings bond interest on the Dividends, Interest, Late Charges and Fees Maintenance dialog box).
- M04 - The member belongs to a deferred compensation credit union. (If Y is in the Deferred Compensation field on the Credit Union Profile - Credit Union tab, the members are only purged in the first purge after year end.)
- M05 - The member Allow Account to Purge option is not selected on the Stmts/Reporting/Notices tab.
- M06 - The member has information on the Legal/Bankruptcy tab.
- M07 - The member has Account Analysis cross accounts.
- M08 - The member is linked to another member in online banking.
- M09 - The member has a closed date after MM/DD/YY or the Member Close Date is blank, and the Member Close Date Required is selected on the Credit Union Profile Purge tab.
Portico’s quarterly purge program retains and builds non-member records when the purging member has a relationship to another existing member. If non-member information is not available or the member is deceased, the words ‘purge deleted’ may appear on the Account Relationships dialog box.
Refer to the Dormancy Frequently Asked Questions for information on dormant members.
To manually delete a member, use the Member Delete dialog box. Use this option at your discretion and be sure to retain notes and records of this account for audit purposes.
